2024 Chick season is over.
We will be offering limited incubation services this year for $2.00 per egg.
Due to the unknown demand for chicks this year, we are allowing presales and special orders, with a deposit due upfront. Please see our Presale & Hold Policy below.
Presales are for existing orders on our delivery schedule. This will hold your desired breed and quantity once the deposit has been paid.
Special Orders are any order or breed that is not on our existing schedule.
Orders usually need to be placed in early January for best availability. We will accept special orders for layers through the end of March, but there may be order minimums for breeds we are not already getting. We will accept special orders for meat chickens throughout the season pending hatchery availability. Give us a call or complete the special order request form below.
Chicks arrive between Wednesdays and Fridays depending on what hatchery they are coming from. Most of our chicks are hatchery sexed pullets unless it indicates straight run (SR). Hatcheries claim 90% accuracy, however, this is not guaranteed unless you are getting an auto sexing breed. Our primary focus this year will be on specialty breeds and fun colored egg layers. We will also bring in some production layers and ducks. Please be advised chicks may not be available for walk in purchase if they are all presold. We do not know what the availability will be at this time, but we will update our delivery schedule every week.
Presale & Hold Policy
We take prompt and exceptional care of our chicks when they arrive with warm cages, clean padding, fresh food and probiotic enriched water. This additional care comes with an added expense, but results in a much healthier bird.
In an effort to keep prices reasonable and competitive, we are accepting holds this year, with a $2.00 deposit required per chick. This will allow us to gauge and modify our orders to meet demand. The more chicks we order, the cheaper they are. If we have to cancel orders, the cost goes up for everyone and we don't want to end up with too many chicks we can't sell.
We will do our best to provide an estimated cost, but the final price could fluctuate based on final quantities ordered.
Deposit Refund Policy - Refunds will be given if orders are not fulfilled due to a bad hatch, shipping casualties or other unforeseen issues. In order to comply with hatchery requirements for changes and cancellations, refunds will be as follows:
Fully Refundable if orders are cancelled or modified 16 days before the scheduled delivery of your requested breed(s).
50% Refundable if orders are cancelled or modified 8 days before the scheduled delivery of your requested breed(s).
Non Refundable if orders are cancelled or modified within 8 days of the scheduled delivery of your requested breed(s).
Chicks will be held and must be picked up preferably the same day but no later than 1:00pm the Saturday after arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Chicks not picked up by this time will be subject to an additional $0.50 fee per chick and/or released for sale.
